Foundation Objectives

Climate Change

  • Contribute to processes to ensure the long-term vitality of forest ecosystems and their environmental services, promoting forest resilience in the face of climate variability: sustainable management strategies, forest restoration, biodiversity conservation, payment for environmental services and indigenous, Afro-descendant, and/or vulnerable community management.
  • Develop climate change adaptation programs with the implementation of applied research projects and actions towards urban and rural resilience through partnerships with government institutions, organizations and local communities, creating more resilient, secure and sustainable communities in the long term: soil conservation, efficient use of water and crop diversification, among others.
  • Contribute to knowledge and technical support in ocean, reef and coastal issues related to climate mitigation and resilience.

Environment

  • Research, promote and implement renewable energies in order to adapt rural and urban systems, providing access to clean energy sources and fostering local economic development with a focus on sustainability.
  • Investigate and promote applied research on environmental issues, technologies focused on productivity, circular economy and eco-efficiency, including but not limited to recycling projects of different materials and waste.
  • Strengthen habitats with organic architecture and eco-communities through projects with indigenous, Afro-descendant and/or vulnerable communities.

Corporative

  • Provide services to CIB companies (collective interest benefit) on environmental issues, climate change, humanitarian aid and vulnerable communities, based on the Foundation’s portfolio of services.
  • Implement corporate environmental management systems, including climate change.

Humanitarian Aid

  • To facilitate humanitarian assistance in disasters of climatic origin through the development of a comprehensive humanitarian assistance program that allows for an effective and coordinated response by providing immediate aid to affected communities, guaranteeing their safety, providing essential resources and facilitating the recovery and sustainable reconstruction of the affected areas.

Vulnerable Communities and Peace

  • Support vulnerable indigenous and Afro-descendant communities, and communities of African descent in general, focused on a peaceful, sustainable and resilient environment. This component is transversal to the other thematic areas.
  • Promote the care of children with food.
  • Promote the care of families with dignified housing.
